CHINA PI helps teach children important developmental skills within the classroom and community. Through field trips, invited guest teachers, workshops, and special lesson plans, the teachers at the CHINA PI provide a more comprehensive education for children from 3 to 6 years old.
不同于传统体制内学校死记硬背风格,CHINA PI的学生早间的学习计划着重于基本的阅读、口语、生活技能的培养,以寓教于乐的方式展开。
To break from the limited indoor, rote memorization style of traditional Chinese school systems, students at CHINA PI begin their day with normal lesson plans in the morning structured around the basic learning goals for young children: reading, speaking, life skills, learning through playing.
午餐时间为 11:30 -12:30;午睡时间为 13:00-15:00。
在这之后,学生们在学校附近的社区或是研习会、工作坊度过下午的时光。
After lunch (11:30-12:30)— and nap time (13:00-15:00)— the students spend the afternoons either out in the neighborhood near the school or with an invited workshop leader.
我们的课程不单单限于室内的学习活动,离开学校、开展户外教学可以鼓励孩子对于周边事物产生好奇心和探究心。在社区中走动会使他们对自己的生活环境更加了解,联系也更加紧密。在这个过程中,老师们会介绍更多实用技能,并且激发孩子们的文化意识。
Instead of staying inside and focusing on indoor learning activities like arts and crafts, leaving the school for field trips encourages children to become more curious and aware of the places around them. Walking around the community introduces them to their surroundings and provides more opportunities to connect with the neighborhood. The teachers come to engage the children in practical skills and develop more cultural awareness.
从国外留学的中国老师的戏剧工作室,到当地的木匠(也是中国传统艺术家),学生们会逐渐看到事物的本质,并加深对文化的理解和吸收。
From a theater workshop with a Chinese teacher who studied abroad to a local carpenter who’s also a traditional Chinese artist, students see how things are made and take part in exciting cultural lessons.
